Some recent Insects

I haven’t actually managed to get out much of late (Summer holidays, work and various other things have just plain got in the way) but I have managed a few insects in my garden (not including the moths I trap).

Some recent Insects

Anyway this is just a quick post to show the 3 Ladybirds I have photographed (after coming to my moth trap) and the two stunning Lesser Stag Beetles (one came to my moth trap the other was in my glass bin!) there was also an invasions of water boatmen on evening while trapping, but sadly no photos.

Now for something Different

I decided to try something different with these images. Photographing the awesome Lesser Stag Beetle on plain white. Like I do when I photograph moths sometimes. What do you think? I like it, I think it shows off the insect brilliantly. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
