Boxing Day Bumble
It would be remiss of me to recommend a boxing day bumble, as a way of burning off the Christmas excesses, as I did on twitter, without going for one myself.
My advice on how to beat the Boxing Day sales: “go for a walk and save your money. Do you really need that extra stuff?” There are so many better things to do today that involve family and not spending money. Get outside and enjoy all that Nature has to offer.

So, leaving Zoe with the puppy (he’s still in need of one last injection), Bubs and I headed out for a short walk.
Boxing Day Bumble
Deciding to head out past the church we meandered through the park and across the road, lightly dressed in some of our Christmas presents, the winter sun was beating down on us and it felt lovely.
Walking along together, the little lady and I were laughing and joking, as we so often do. Pointing out the scratching Squirrels, as they hunted the rotting leaf litter for the odd hidden nut; or checking the fields for the local Alpaca.
Ridging the hill that contains Old Wolverton church, as we looked out down through the Ouse Valley, it was clear that we had made a minor error. Once away from the shelter of the bushes the ice could be felt in the wind. And being the Ouse Valley, that wind can really whip through.
After passing the mother of our new pup walking the other way, bubs and I decided that it was getting way to cold, so rather than a long walk in jumpers (and in her case a dress), we would cut back across the fields, and attempt a warmer walk tomorrow.

I’m glad to see I’m not the only hardy soul out in shorts today! 😀

I’ll tell the little lady, I love wearing shorts but I draw the line in this weather. Looked way warmer than it was (actually was OK in the sun and shelter).

It’s definitely a better idea to go for a walk on Boxing Day than hit the sales, shopping is so overrated! #adventurecalling

I think so. And thank you 🙂

Boxing Day walks are also a big tradition in our house and this sounds like our sort of walk after a day of food and drink excess. We opted for a very short local walk this year but it was nice just to stretch the legs. Thanks for joining us on #adventurecalling . I hope you can tomorrow when it opens again.

Hopefully next boxing day will be a longer one for us 🙂

We went for a lovely walk on Boxing Day, it’s definitely better than hitting the shops. I really don’t see the attraction of fighting through crowds! It looks like you had a lovely walk, although I felt cold just looking at your daughter. Thanks for sharing with us #AdventureCalling

As wonderful as my daughter is she is a right royal pain when it comes to dressing for the weather.
