I promised a post the other day on twitter that I just haven’t had time to write. It was from my walk on Tuesday, it’s now Thursday evening so I thought I should knock something up. I’ll be honest, this will mainly be a post for the photos I took. But here it is anyway Swans Stonechats and Stuff.
Swans Stonechats and Stuff
We’ll start with the Swans.
Swan Photos
![Mute Swan in flight (Cob - you can tell by the size of the bump on its beak)](https://usercontent.one/wp/www.viewsfromanurbanlake.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Floodplain-forest-NR-IMG_4705-20-02-2018.jpg)
![Young Mute Swan in flight (This one was being chased off by a larger adult)](https://usercontent.one/wp/www.viewsfromanurbanlake.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Floodplain-forest-NR-IMG_4717-20-02-2018.jpg)
![The male Mute Swan that chased the youngster above. Very regal in its posture.](https://usercontent.one/wp/www.viewsfromanurbanlake.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Floodplain-forest-NR-IMG_4730-20-02-2018.jpg)
![Same swan as above](https://usercontent.one/wp/www.viewsfromanurbanlake.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Floodplain-forest-NR-IMG_4737-20-02-2018.jpg)
Three different birds all captured at the Floodplain Forest Nature Reserve, and all in very different poses. It just goes to show that even when you think things are quiet there can still be wonderful views (and images) to be found.
Stonechat Photos

Stuff
The walk itself was a cold, overcast, windy, affair, but there were a few opportunities for more wildlife photos. As well as some nice landscapes. And of course I can’t visit my local reserve without a photo or two of the Konik Ponies.
I hope you enjoy these ones too.
