Just before the school half term holiday started, I laid out a few wet weather plans for if/when it was raining  and guess what it did indeed rain on my days off. All three of them! So we spent the a lot of time indoors (although we did buy Bo some new waterproof trousers, most days we chose to be lazy instead), not great from a wildlife watching point of view (although the BBC Springwatch programme helped a little), and we did manage to do a little on Saturday (even though I was working most of the daylight hours) for the Big Garden Bio Blitz.

We ended up doing a number of animal related word searches, lots of colouring (Bo was desperate to get the painted Ladies accurate) and some crafting in making masks; Osprey (see Below) and Otter and finger puppets; Red Kite (see above).

Not much else to report I’m afraid, I hope to get out and about a bit more this week (From Wednesday onwards, as working nights the next two). Although I did hear my first Sedge Warbler and Cetti’s Warbler of the year, although these we not on the patch and were on my ride to work past Willen Lake.

Please feel free to leave me a comment, I really appreciate the interaction and will reply as soon as I can.

I think rain got in the way of rather a lot of peoples' half term plans. Not ours though ….. France doesn't have a summer half term!! (And do tell Bo her colouring in is very good!).

On a different note I got a fabulous view of a greater spotted woodpecker last week, on a fence post and flying down the same stretch of road this morning.
