Not a day for the birds

Not a day for the birds – SPLISH (My new wellies getting their first action)

Well it is still raining in the UK. It seems it has been raining since November. I know we have a reputation for rainy weather but it is starting to get beyond a joke (and people claim climate change isn’t real, scarily including our environment minister which is a real worry but way off topic). The flooding through out some parts of the country is getting quite bad, we are lucky it doesn’t affect us too badly (swollen rivers and lakes but nothing too bad), but it has made me, for the first time in my adult life, buy some wellies!! – 2018 update, I wish I’d had my new Bogs Boots then (and so does my daughter).

Not a day for the birds

Not sure my other half will be too happy, they weren’t cheap but hey it’s my birthday tomorrow and they are really warm with a nice fur (not real of course) lining. Anyway as I’m sure I’ve said before when the weather is like this it is time for some fun. And my daughter wanted to splash! So no birds today just some wet weather fun. Oh and in case people are concerned my boys came out with us last weekend and got very wet as well, it’s almost a miracle a 14 year old leaving his x-box to join us in the wet! (Actually as an aside a word of warning his x-box was hacked and around £1000 was taken from his mums bank! If you have bank details on your x-box remove them just in case).

Puddle Splashing

Anyway, here are some pics of today’s splashing, for your enjoyment. Life isn’t all about the birds and I make no excuses about sharing the fun I have in the great outdoors.

The mood got a bit sour when I said it was time to go home (Bo’s boot had come off once and her feet were rather wet by now.

However stealing daddies hat helped brighten her mood, especially as I got wet!

Anyway we had fun after school, who say’s rain should stop play, I think getting kids out in this sort of weather is the most fun you can have, and even if the wildlife isn’t showing, it can still be a great afternoon. The only problem is I can’t take photos of me splashing!! Mine were bigger than Bo’s I assure you.

Please feel free to leave me a comment, I really appreciate the interaction and will reply as soon as I can.
